CHIMAIRA: 'Nothing Remains' Video Posted Online

August 18, 2005

CHIMAIRA's video for the track "Nothing Remains" has been posted online at this location (17 MB) (Quicktime required). The clip for "Nothing Remains" was directed by Shane Drake (TRIVIUM, STILL REMAINS) and is scheduled to debut on Fuse next week and on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" on Saturday, August 27.

"Nothing Remains" comes off the group's self-titled third album, which sold 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release (according to Nielsen SoundScan) to debut at No. 74 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. The follow-up to 2003's "Impossibility of Reason", "Chimaira" entered the chart with a 68 percent increase over their last album's first-week sales, according to the group's record label, Roadrunner Records. Says lead singer Mark Hunter, "It's been an amazing summer with the tours we have been on and now we are celebrating the release of our new record. I have always said that we have the most loyal fans on the planet and this proves it!"

"Chimaira" was recorded at Spider Studios in Ohio with producer Ben Schigel, who has described the new material as having "more of an epic kind of vibe. The songs are a lot longer, but we found a way to make them long without being boring. Now that it's coming together, it sounds way more brutal." Mixing duties were handled by Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, FEAR FACTORY, NAPALM DEATH).

CHIMAIRA are currently touring the U.S. with support from SIX FEET UNDER, ALL THAT REMAINS and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD.
